Canada Geese pair at Hemsford lake field
The Canada Geese in the lake field at Hemsford - after a long absence two Canadian Geese arrived back at the lake field today. There were no sign of any goslings, or fledglings. The ones hatched earlier this year disappeared mysteriously with their parents and this is the first sign of them for a few weeks.
The lake field looks rather green despite the recent heatwave conditions, the grass is long and stalky and not as parched and brown as other fields in the vicinity. This is mainly due to the fact that the spring and lake are in the same field and keep the grass hydrated.

Canada Geese hatched 6 goslings on 6th May 2015
I know the goslings have hatched but as the weather is so blustery and cold the mother goose is covering them over with her wings and sheltering them from the worst of the rain and winds.
